The Porter is a “hands on” position that provides clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the tenants, employees, and public. This position will be responsible for cleaning the interiors and exteriors of commercial office buildings, and will require to travel from one location to another. You must be able to use a cell phone to work with our company case system application. Commercial property experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Hand pick up loose trash and grounds daily
• Replace light bulbs and ballast daily as needed
• Replace ceiling tiles as needed
• Clean/wipe entrance doors/glass daily
• Check restrooms – first thing in am. Wipe down restroom vanity tops, check and replenish paper supplies, soap; clean restrooms several times per day as needed
• Blow sidewalks, entrances and other areas as necessary
• Empty ashtrays, sweep smoking areas
• Read sub-meters monthly and turn in to property manager
• Take temperature readings only. No t-stat adjustments until he is trained on direct acting, reverse acting etc. and what is in each property
• Trash out/clean vacant suites as needed
• Vacuum vacant suites once per week as needed
• Assist with maintenance and repairs as necessary
• Check in daily with Maintenance Supervisor, Repair and PM’s as necessary
• Adjust door closures
• Replace air filters
• Rekey locks for existing and new tenants.
• Assist with plumbing issues and repairs
• Change out flags and floor mats
• Assist with electrical issues and repairs
• Touch up painting as identified
• Power washing projects; various everywhere, all properties
• Repaint curbs and parking stops – ongoing as needed
• Assist with make readies as needed for Vacant spaces
• Change out lightbulbs and ballasts as needed
• Change out ceiling tiles as needed
• Blow sidewalks, entrances and grounds as necessary
