Asset Management Services In a Diverse and Successful City
September 08, 2014
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recently announced that it has selected Houston as the location of its 2015 National Convention. According to the announcement, the USHCC selects its yearly convention location based on economic prowess, a pro-business environment, and ethnic diversity. With its growing Hispanic population and its impressive economic record, the chamber stated, Houston fits the bill.
Over one third of Houston's residents identify as being Hispanic, according to U.S. Census figures. As the fourth largest city in the nation and the largest city in Texas, Houston boasts a half-trillion dollar economy that includes about 150,000 Hispanic-owned farms and a diverse business community that spans a number of industries, the USHCC stated. It's also one of the most affordable cities in America in which to live and is at the top of the list when it comes to job creation.
According to Mayor Annise Parker, Houston lives by the notion: If you can dream it, you can achieve it. Parker encouraged the attendees of the convention to take some time to check out the city, though she stated that one could spend every day of the year here and still not see everything that Houston has to offer.
